Dr. Bo Pedersen received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in 1992. He initially worked as Project Manager, Integrated Optics, at NKT, Glostrup Denmark, before joining AT&T Submarine Systems (Later Tyco Submarine Systems) in Holmdel NJ, USA, where he became the Director of next generation technology and systems. In 2000, Dr. Pedersen became the Founder and CTO of Dorsal Networks, a venture-backed fiber-optic systems company, in Maryland, USA (sold to the Corvis Corporation in 2002).In 2005, Dr. Pedersen joined QuNano, in Lund, Sweden, as CEO in 2005 and he was also the co-founding CEO of its two spinouts, Glo AB and Sol Voltaics AB.He is on the Advisory Board to the Department of Photonics at DTU, and he is the co-founding CEO and private investor in Bifrost Communications ApS. Dr. Pedersen hold about 25 patents in the area of fiber-optic.
Jesper Bevensee Jensen
Dr. Jesper Bevensee Jensen received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in 2008, after which he worked as a Postdoc on optical access networks within the European Union research project ICT-Alpha. From 2011, Dr. Jensen has been Assistant Professor in the Department of Photonics at DTU continuing his research on optical access networks. He is the co-founding CTO and invento of the technology behind Bifrost Communications ApS. Dr. Jensen is the co-author of more than 100 publications, and holds 1 patent in the area of fiber-optics.
Dr. Steven Liu received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark in 1991. After working as a Research Scientist and Leader of Microwave Photonic Group in TRLabs, Edmonton, Canada, he started his development career of high speed optoelectronic circuits and modules with Alcatel Network Systems and later Lucent Technologies since 1996. He has 16 years of extensive working experiences at different optical start-up companies in USA with various technical and managerial positions, including Senior Engineer at Corvis Corp, Director of Module Production at Multiplex Inc and Founding Head of O-Net (USA) as well as VP of R&D, O-Net Communications Group. Dr. Liu has strong leadership and excellent organizational skills in building and managing cross-functional teams for 10G/40G/100G module development, transfer, and manufacturing. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.
Mr. Jesper Hart-Hansen received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School (HBS) in 1993. He initially deep dived into Telecom digitalization, de-regulation, and globalization, with a focus on Mobile and Infrastructure based telecom operations. For five years, he worked on all three sides of a capital intensive Telco JV: BellSouth / SONOFON(JV) / GN Great Nordic. End of 1998, he co-founded the $250m fiber optic telecom operator GlobalConnect A/S, the “Level3” of Northern Germany and Southern Scandinavia. He grew the company as Managing Director and board member. In 2006, he sold his shares. Before joining eBay Europe in January 2011, he worked 6 years with Mobile Broadband (Clearwire/Elro) and managed own angel investments. One investment is Bifrost Communications ApS. Current position is Investment Manager at Pre-seed venture fund Capnova A/S. Mr. Hart-Hansen has filed 2 patents while at eBay Inc.
Mr. Morten Johansen holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Business Economics and Auditing from Aarhus School of Business, Aarhus University in 1990. He initially worked as a CPA with Arthur Andersen. For nearly 10 years he worked as Managing director for several entities within the German GEA group – including being regional responsible for UKI, South East Asia and Eastern Europe. Until recently, he was Group EVP and CFO for the Danish Nilfisk Group. He is now active investor in start-up businesses including Bifrost Communications ApS and also works as independent consultant. He holds strong international experience in management, finance and hardware b-t-b business. Further, he holds years of experience working in start-up companies.
After Studies at Handelshøjskolen Copenhagen (CBS) Steen worked in IT consulting in the early days of Andersen Consulting in South Africa, and subsequently with Unix systems product management and marketing in the Nordic countries, USA and Australia/New Zealand for NCR. In 1995 Steen started the Equant (now known as Orange Business Services) network operations in Denmark, and subsequently grew the business substantially in the Nordic countries before moving to the UK to head up the larger Equant UK company. As VP Gen. Mgr Steen was responsible for the merger of the Equant/Global One operations in the UK. Subsequent regulatory experience as MD of ECTA, and operator experience from Cable & Wireless and Tata Communications. Steen has solid general and sales management experience gained in the IT/telco industry, and has shown strong business development skills, having grown several businesses substantially during his career.

Jes Broeng, Co-Founder, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Jes Broeng is Professor at the Technical University of Denmark. He is author and co-author of more than 200 publications in the field of optical communications and photonics (+10,000 citations) and holds 17 patents. Jes Broeng has work 12 years in industry and holds extensive experience in applied research, early high-tech business development, IPR and licensing, and high-tech sales (US, Europe, and Asia). Jes Broeng is co-founder of five start-ups: Crystal Fibre (now NKT Photonics), Norlase, Bifrost Communications, Aqubiq and OSAA Innovation – and he has pioneered a new model for successful university spin-outs. He is a frequent invited speaker and teaches technology entrepreneurship seminars and workshops at universities around the world. Jes Broeng is a member of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences and a Fellow of SPIE (the international society for optics and photonics) and has served on the committee of several international conferences. Jes Broeng was awarded the European Optics Prize in 1999, and he is the winner of the DTU Innovation Award 2016.
Mr. Guillermo Silva received his B.Sc. in Telecommunications Systems Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) in 2016. In 2016 he was an intern at the Radio Frequency Research Group (GIRA), Technical University of Madrid, where he conducted research and development activities in the field of RF and microwave engineering. Later in the same year, Guillermo joined Bifrost Communications as a part-time development engineer for microwave circuit design. Currently, he is also enrolled as a graduate student at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) where he works towards his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering. His interests include RF, microwave and millimeter-wave circuits, MMIC design, antennas and wireless communications.
Christian received his B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering in 2015 from The Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He directly continued with his M.Sc in Engineering Design and Applied Mechanics, also at DTU. Enrolled here, he has received the Six Theta DTU Graduate certificate, won Oticon Audio Explorers Engieering Challenge and won Best Master Concept (3rd place) at DTU Green Challenge. Christian have specialized within product development and performance-stable production.
Christian is also writing his master thesis with Bifrost Communications. Here he is working on the mechanical design of Bifrost’ technology.
